Adam Proteau: Don't presume NHLers with no-trade clauses won't wind up in Las Vegas Because of their no-trade and-or no-move clauses, dozens of NHL players will be protected from being selected in the upcoming expansion draft that stocks Las Vegas' new team. But don't presume the NTCs or NMCs are a guarantee the players who have one in their contracts won't wind up playing for the Golden Knights. Because they're not.

Thanks tips. Players with NTC or NMCs can still be moved!? No way! In other news today ... grass is green, ice is cold and obvious things.

Phaneuf has to submit a list of 12 teams he would be willing to accept a trade to. The issue was never that his NTC/NMC would prevent a trade. The issue was finding a GM dumb enough to take on his contract.

Imo it's not whether Phaneuf can be traded to Vegas. It's all about whether McPhee is dumb enough to take that player/contract on.

Vegas would be wise to avoid garbage contracts. Spend your money on free agents and pick the best / younger players available out of the expansion draft.

If it's not Phaneuf, it will be someone else with a bad contract. They could possibly get 3 or 4 players with 'bad contracts'.

Vegas is going to have to get to the floor one way or another. Now the ideal thing for them to do is to get players with a high cap hit, but a low actual salary. Thing is, most players with those types of front loaded contracts have NMC.
